Beef and Noodles
Beef and Noodles
Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450g) beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 8 oz (225g) wide egg noodles
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup (240ml) beef broth
- 1/2 cup (120ml) sour cream
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Noodles:
- Cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. Season the Beef:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced beef with onion powder, garlic powder, Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat the beef evenly.
3. Cook the Beef:
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the seasoned beef slices to the skillet and cook until browned on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
4. Sauté Onion and Garlic:
- In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil if needed.
- Add the sliced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the onion is soft and translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
5. Combine Beef and Onion Mixture:
- Return the cooked beef slices to the skillet with the onion and garlic mixture. Stir to combine.
6. Add Beef Broth:
- Pour the beef broth into the skillet. Stir well to deglaze the bottom of the skillet, scraping up any browned bits.
7. Simmer:
- Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 5-7 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken slightly.
8. Finish with Sour Cream:
- Once the sauce has thickened, remove the skillet from the heat.
- Stir in the sour cream until well incorporated. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if necessary.
Serve:
- Serve the beef and onion mixture over the cooked egg noodles.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
Enjoy!
This beef and noodles dish with Cajun seasoning and sour cream is hearty, flavorful, and sure to be a hit at the dinner table!
