Indian Fried Bread Tacos with Shredded Beef
Shredded Beef:
Ingredients:
- 1 pound beef chuck roast
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
2. Season the beef chuck roast with salt and pepper.
3. Sear the beef chuck roast on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
4. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
5. In the same skillet, add chopped onions and minced garlic. Cook until softened and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
6. Return the beef to the skillet and add beef broth, ground cumin, and chili powder.
7. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 2-3 hours, or until the beef is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
8. Once cooked, shred the beef using two forks.
9. Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
10. Keep the shredded beef warm until ready to serve.

- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup warm water
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
2. Gradually add warm water to the flour mixture, mixing until a dough forms.
3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
4. Divide the dough into small balls, about the size of a golf ball.
5. Roll out each dough ball into a circle, about 1/4 inch thick.
6. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 375°F (190°C).
7. Fry the dough circles one at a time until golden brown and puffed up, about 2-3 minutes per side.
8. Remove the fried bread from the oil and drain on paper towels.
9. To assemble the Indian fried bread tacos, top each fried bread with a generous amount of shredded beef.
10. Serve hot and enjoy the delicious flavors of Indian-inspired tacos!
